Since 2016, Luca Castignani has been designing customer-oriented solution in NVH and MBD at MSC, and is currently the Autonomous Driving Strategist for the organization.
Earlier, Luca served Ferrari Auto leading Vehicle Dynamics, NVH and later as the head of CAE, gaining a wide and deep experience on simulation and in physical testing allowing him to develop design techniques that are capable to bridge the gap traditionally existing between these two engineering approaches. Luca has a PhD in Vehicle Dynamics gained at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in cooperation with Pirelli Tires. As vehicle dynamic expert he has been in charge of designing the new generation of Ferrari suspensions delivering a solution that, sharing all major components, now fits the whole Ferrari range of cars. After successful replacement of the Ferrari suspensions, that delivered even a better handling of the car while providing an unprecedented level of comfort, Luca was asked to grow the NVH team from a “problem solving” approach to a structured and predictable development workflow. In last 3 years of his career in Ferrari, Luca took the role of Senior Simulation Manager, coordinating all simulation activities within the Vehicle Concept department.
